Sheikha Hind Suhail Bahwan is a renowned Omani entrepreneur. As the Founder and Chairperson of Bahwan CyberTek Group (BCT), Sheikha Hind has created a group of companies with a global footprint. Her business activities cover technology, information security technology renewable energy, Power-to-gas (green hydrogen) technology, supply chain and logistics, commodity trading and lifestyle. BCT has nine subsidiaries, three joint ventures, and numerous strategic partners. BCT employs over 4,500 associates, operates in 50 countries, and serves over 1,000 clients, including many Fortune 500 companies.


Cementing her legacy as an entrepreneurial pioneer, BCT has built innovative IP led technology solutions across multiple verticals including BFSI, government, oil & gas, energy, logistics, telecom and retail domains. In 2020, she showcased her flair for diversification by introducing Bahwan Lifestyle, a premium brand catering to lifestyle, hospitality, fashion, and beauty sectors. Three years after its inception, ‘OJAR’ her signature perfume collection, has already established itself amongst the world’s elite perfume brands.


With two decades of deep expertise in the energy sector, Sheikha Hind pivoted towards the renewable energy sector and her group company, Bahwan Renewable Energy Company, was part of the consortium that was awarded the first utility scale solar development in Oman, a 105 MW 23-year PPA in 2019. Over the next 4 years, through her company Al Khadra Partners, Sheikha Hind focused on the energy transition and the emerging Power-to-gas (green hydrogen) sector. Al Khadra Partners, along with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, Blue Power Partners (both of Denmark), founded the multinational Amnah Renewable Energy Consortium, which in June 2023 was named as the winner of the first international land block auction, offered by Hydrom (Oman’s national entity orchestrating the Sultanates green hydrogen interests). The US$ 6bn project envisages the production of more than 200KMTPA of green hydrogen, derived from 4.5GW of renewable energy and 2.6GW of electrolyser capacity. In September 2023, Sheikha Hind Bahwan was appointed as the Chairperson of Amnah Renewable Energy.  


A seasoned board member, she has contributed her insights to numerous public and private institutions. Her previous advisory roles encompassed, Deutsche Bank, Oman's Public Authority for Social Insurance, the Harvard Business School MENAAB, the Middle East Advisory Board of Coutts & Co., the Middle Centre Advisory Board at the London School of Economics, and she notably chaired the Oman Chapter of YPO. In November 2024, Sheikha Hind was appointed as the Chairman of Family Business Council Gulf.


As a passionate “ambassador” for Oman, Sheikha Hind founded and previously chaired the Omani French Friendship Association, which was dedicated towards strengthening bilateral cultural and economic ties between the two nations. A noteworthy undertaking acknowledged by France, when she was honoured with the prestigious 'Legion of Honour' in 2019. Repeatedly recognized by Forbes as one of the Middle East's top 100 businesswomen, her commendations are myriad, including accolades from Ernst & Young, Arabian Business, UNDP, the World Economic Forum, and the Asian Business Leadership Forum. Stanford Business School has written 2 case studies on the evolution of Bahwan CyberTek.
Sheikha Hind boasts an academic foundation in Computer Science and holds distinguished alumni status from the Harvard Business School. Additionally, she is a celebrated Kellogg School Executive Scholar, specializing in leadership and management.
