The Majlis was hosted at the private residence of H. E. Abdulaziz Abdulla Al Ghurair, Chairman of the Family Business Council – Gulf (FBCG)
While the contribution of family business to the economy is evident, the external regulatory environment supporting the long term sustainability of family businesses is challenging; especially when it comes to long term planning for family business governance and family ownership succession.
The Majlis reflected on Europe’s experience in advocating for a conducive family business regulatory environment. The session discussed the advantages of maintaining a positive family business public image, and facilitated a discussion on suggested advocacy methods to promote required regulatory development. It featured a panel on “Family businesses contribution to economy, and the role of the regulation environment in supporting business continuity” featuring international guest Philip Aminoff, Former President of European Family Business (EFB)
