UAE Majlis
Majlis receptions are intimate gatherings over lunch or dinner hosted by one of our family members. The Majlis program usually includes a keynote speaker or a panel discussion followed by an open discussion. Majlis receptions are usually attended by FBCG chairman and board.

The Majlis was hosted at the private residence of H. E. Abdulaziz Abdulla Al Ghurair, Chairman of the Family Business Council – Gulf (FBCG)

While the contribution of family business to the economy is evident, the external regulatory environment supporting the long term sustainability of family businesses is challenging; especially when it comes to long term planning for family business governance and family ownership succession.

The Majlis reflected on Europe’s experience in advocating for a conducive family business regulatory environment. The session discussed the advantages of maintaining a positive family business public image, and facilitated a discussion on suggested advocacy methods to promote required regulatory development.  It featured a panel on “Family businesses contribution to economy, and the role of the regulation environment in supporting business continuity” featuring international guest Philip Aminoff, Former President of European Family Business (EFB)
