A delegation of the Family Business Council Gulf (FBCG), representing some of the oldest and largest family businesses and family offices in the GCC, recently convened in Abu Dhabi for a strategic visit themed "Abu Dhabi: Unlocking Innovation and Investment Opportunities Across Generations".

The Family Business Council Gulf (FBCG), a non-profit organisation dedicated to the continuity and success of family businesses in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, is pleased to announce its leadership transition. Sheikha Hind Bahwan has been appointed as Chairman, with Mr Hassan Jameel assuming the role of Vice Chairman.

FBCG hosted its first NFT Art Workshop in collaboration with Nuqtah Platform (https://www.itsnuqtah.com) and honorary guest speaker Her Highness Reem Al Faisal at Hayy Jameel in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Our members and guests learned about NFTs and the blockchain application for their family groups. They also had a first hand experience designing their own NFT art and listing it on a marketplace.

FBCG has launched a new peer learning circle, the Study Groups, exclusively for FBCG founder and fellow members "by families, for families". The Study Groups are private group of famliies who will learn together and from each other on the most burnign and disruptive topics related to family business management and ownership. Families set their own learning agenda, topic and exchange answers with professional facilitation.

FBCG hosted its first Majlis since the pandemic at the private residence of Al Muhaidib family in Riyadh. The fireside discussions were centered on managing disruptions in family, personal life and business, with an inspiring talk by Tareq Azim, author of "Empower - Conquering the Disease of Fear" and a presentation by Ali Mahdavji on the blockchain revolution and its use cases for diversified family business groups.

FBCG in partnership with INSEAD Abu Dhabi hosted a two day workshop on corporate venturing for family businesses. participants were our next generation leaders representing some of the leading families from Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, UAE, along with our international FBN members. The program instructor, Dr. Claudia Zeisberger explored the different options for corporate venturing -- CVC, venture building and venture client model - and concluded with an action planning session with the families.

Hosted virtually, our two-day annual summit (19-20 October) was a global event this year.
