Winners of the NexGen Venture Award
Congratulations to our NexGen Venture Award winners – Mohammed Al Muhaidib, Co-founder of LaanCare and Norah Al Muhaidib, Founder of Culture
Family Business Council Gulf awards the NexGen Venture Award to two individuals – Mohammed Al Muhaidib, Co-founder of LaanCare and Norah Al Muhaidib, Founder of Culture for successfully launching ventures outside their family business.
The Next Generation Venture award honors a young individual (aged 18-40 years) who is affiliated to a GCC family business and has launched a successful venture in the GCC because the entrepreneurial spirit is an essential quality for the sustainability of family businesses.
Culture is an ecommerce platform that exports Saudi fashion, culture, and design to the world. The venture proudly puts local first and passionate about empowering women-led businesses and SMEs.
A key differentiator is they successful organic growth, growing from 20 to 90 brands in little over a year and 200,000 users and growing.
In response to winning the Award, Norah said “I’m deeply honored by this award. Launching a venture is hard so receiving this award is incredibly motivating. At Culture we are passionate about enabling SMEs and creating a new wave of anti-fast fashion. We want to put the attention back on shopping local and showcase the authentic and inspiring brands and designers in our region.”
LaanCare is a Saudi-based healthcare app offering virtual medical consultations and home nursing services.
A key differentiator is how LaanCare responded to the pandemic and need for more at home health services, growing rapidly into four cities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and expansion plans for the rest of the GCC.
Mohammed accepted the award on behalf of LaanCare and said “Thank you to the entire FBCG team and Board for their recognition. Special thanks to our team at LaanCare for their dedication throughout the difficult times the pandemic brought to us all. It wouldn’t have been possible without the keen and energetic spirit the team has carried with them, and I am entirely grateful, thank you.”
